CSAE Trillium: Embrace Your Inner Gleek Gala

Had a fantastic night last night at the CSAE (Canadian Society of Association Executives) Trillium Chapter, Holiday Gala. The theme was "Embrace Your Inner Gleek". I decided to embrace it with a bow-tie but others went all out with tracksuits and other Glee-themed paraphernalia.
A specific Thank You to Kathy Tavares, Sales Manager with Starwood Hotels and Resorts-Toronto for the invitation.

Regent Park School of Music: The Tina Jabbour Annual Music Campaign

Type A Events was thrilled to be a part of The Tina Jabbour Annual Music Campaign at the Regent Park School of Music. This incredible school provides high quality, affordable music education to underprivileged children in Toronto.
The Tina Jabbour Annual Music Campaign, named after an incredible young woman with an affinity for music, assists the school by helping to raise money every year towards offsetting a specific cost. This year nearly $8000 was raised to purchase new instruments for the over 950 students of the school!

Thank you to all our clients and friends who donated to this amazing cause!

'Tis almost the Season!

I hate to say it--but summer is coming to a close!
That means the holiday season will be here before we know it. I'm ashamed to say I have already bought my 2011 Christmas ornament.

Whether you're having an intimate gathering with your nearest and dearest, or have been put in charge of this year's corporate holiday party, an event planner can help you get the most bang for your holiday buck. With tricks and trades to help you create a unique event that'll carry us through those cold winter months!

The important thing to remember is to book early for the season. I've already got several bookings for November and December. It's important to plan ahead or the best places, vendors, and planners will already be taken.

Look forward to hearing from you and booking your holiday event.

Ontario Working Group for Early Psychosis Intervention 2011

Thank you to the tireless members of the Ontario Working Group for Early Psychosis Intervention who once again allowed Type A Events to organize their annual conference. The 2011 conference was the largest yet with over 275 attendees.
Taking over most of the conference space at the downtown Toronto's Sheraton Hotel this year's 2-Day Conference focused on the topic of Stigma in the Mental Health field and with over 30 individual speakers and workshops the topic was engaged from a variety of angles.

A chance to relax from the days events came with the inaugural "OWGEPI at the Movies" event. A film showing followed by panel discussion with our own special Awards Night twist.

This was the 6th Conference that Type A Events has organized with the OWGEPI and it just keeps getting better and better!

Tip: Fashion Law Blog

Take a look at the fabulous new blog by Canadian branding lawyer extraordinaire Ashlee Froese
Canada Fashion Law covers the business and legal issues surrounding the fashion industry by not only exploring contemporary legal issues, but also by providing commentary on the existing policy framework of intellectual property within the fashion industry.

In short--a fantastic site that keeps you up to date on what's happening in the legal world of fashion. Already a hit with the large fashion houses in the States this Canadian blog is making waves in the Canadian legal and fashion world as well. Get on board!

A New Year!

Is it me or has January just flown by?? I couldn't believe it when I saw that Type A hasn't posted since September. Fall was a busy season--but that is no excuse to neglect the blog.
New tips are on their way!

A very belated thank you to our Type A Events clients that made 2010 such a successful year. It was a pleasure working with you and we look forward to working with you, and with our clients to be, in 2011.
